Movie Monday - Suggestions Needed

Sadly, I have no movie to review on this Movie Monday. Thus, I'm taking the opportunity to implore my readers for suggestions. We rarely see movies in the theater, but Abigail has been begging us repeatedly to see a movie. We're very particular when it comes to the movies the kids see, and I haven't found anything I would approve of them seeing without either Daniel or myself seeing first. Has anyone seen any new children's movies that are suitable for young viewers? I've read that Desperaux is dark and creepy and Bolt is violent. Are these true-to-form parental reviews or have you seen otherwise?

And, I'm also looking for rental suggestions for me and Daniel. Has anyone recently rented anything they would recommend? Speaking of that, if you rent movies, I highly suggest seeking out the Red Box vending machines in your area. There are quite a few near our house, and I love the opportunity to get $1 rentals. You can't beat a night of cinema entertainment that doesn't require a babysitter and only takes a buck from the budget!

Ideas...?

Last movie I watched was Bucket List, which I guess was alright. Not what everyone made it out to be for me.
Ally went and saw that talking Chihuaua movie the other day. I have no idead if it was good or not, other than she didn't take a potty break in the middle of it. Her and MIL go to the movies on the weekends to the dollar movies and usually she has to go several times.
Sorry I am not much help. We are currently watching nothing but Spirit at our house.

I would suggest Bride Wars...not for Abigail and Cooper of course, more for me and you! :)

Hi Stephanie!
I've had luck with this kid in mind website...it is sort of a parents guide rating. We love Tinkerbell and anything by veggitales with Madeline but she's 3:)

Thanks, Amanda. I've been using the Christan Spotlight on Entertainment site, but have nothing to judge it by because when it advises not to see movies, we don't see them. I'll have to add your site to my list to check and compare the reviews.

Hi Stephanie. Your mom gave me your blog info. She thought I would enjoy looking through your articles. I just wanted to let you know that I've taken my girls to see a couple of movies over the past few months. We saw High School Musical 3. If you like 1 & 2... 3 will take the trophy. It is a little old for the girls but they loved the music! The next movie we saw was Madigascar II. I liked it better than one. I kinda rank it up there with the Shrek movies. There is a lot of kid entertainment... with hidden adult humor. And the last movie we just saw was Marlie & Me. Great movie... not so sure I should have taken my 8, 4, & 2 year old with me. The dog part of the story was great... but it was also a story of 2 young writers getting their family started. Too much adult content for kids. Much to my surprise, my kids never even asked about all the (clean content) bedroom scenes. So there is my input on movies. Enjoy

Micki - Thanks for the input! We love Madagascar, so I think Madagascar 2 would be perfect. I'm going to see if I can find a theater around here showing it this weekend. Thanks for the input!

I'm glad Mom pointed you in my direction. It's great to "hear" from you!
