The Mariners t-ball season (FINALLY) came to an end after 10 weeks of play. Abigail is sad to see the guaranteed snacks on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings come to an end. However, I think we're all happy to take a break from oranized team sports. We'll stick with swim practice through the winter and give t-ball a break.

We didn't have a great coaching situaion as Coach Joe only made appearances at practice and games when it fit into his hunting schedule, which wasn't very often. Needless to say, the kids lost interest when they realized they were being ditched so often and the parents were making do with what we could figure out.

At last Saturday's game I treated to kids to baseball cupcakes and couldn't have anticipated the outcome. Of course, they were delighted with the treats. But, the parents got the biggest kick out of the red icing adventure. Once the kids took a bite into the "laces" on the "baseballs", they immeditely began to look like they had just made out with Marilyn Monroe, smearing red lipstick all over their faces. It was hilarious.

It was nice to end the season with a laugh.
