On Friday she was able to wear this birthday outfit I grabbed on Etsy a few months ago. How can you not love that adorableness?!
After a long day of big activities at school, especailly birthday cupcakes in her class, Aunt Kelly, Gran and Grandad came to celebrate with us.

Aunt Kelly made sure she had a chocolate cake, but the sparkler candles required some help to extinguish.

All things Barbie were the theme of the gifts, and she couldn't have been more excited.

She made a haul with a new Barbie doll and car and a huge Pottery Barn dollhouse on Friday night. The party carried over into Saturday morning when Daddy got home from work. For some reason, I have no pictures of that, but it was just as fun. She got plenty of new swimming gear, Tinkerbell make-up, binoculars that she had been begging for (She says she wants to be a bird watcher), and a gorgeous new bed. you may recall that we redecorated her room for her fifth birthday, but never did find a suitable headboard. This gorgeous, scrolly, white iron bedframe is perfect. And, she calls it a princess bed! What more can a pretty princess ask for?!

What fun! Happy Birthday to Abigail!!!
If you feel like going on a little field trip for bird watching, we love going to Hornsby Bend here in Austin. It's a waste management plant, but has a few really big ponds, walking trails with lots of trees and is a fantastic habitat for tons of different kinds of birds. Every time we've gone, we've seen maybe or two people (I don't think anyone really knows about it) plus we've used it as a cool location for photoshoots-- looks like full-on woods when you get far enough in.
One tip, if you go: drive all the way through the gate, past both ponds on your right. You'll see a little display board that has a trail map in it, and that's where the trail head is, and it's a good place to park the car and walk from there. The first time we went, we didn't know you could drive down the little road, and it made our walk much longer and more out in the sun than I like.
Anyway, you can read more about it here.
If you decide to go, have fun and take lots of photos!
