I won't go on and on about the discussions we had about the weather. I had seen on the news that it was supposed to storm all morning with heavy rain and lightning. I certainly won't go on and on about how I expected us to pack up and head back home with a stop along the way at the Blue Bell creamery in Brenham. And, I definitely won't whine about how disappointed I was when the weather warnings were dismissed and the promised trip to the creamery was scrapped. Oh, no, I would never do any of that. Instead, I'll show you this picture of the kids with a porcupine. Why were they with a porcupine?! Well, since you asked, I'll have to tell you about the boring eductional building we ducked into at the Houston zoo when the flooding rain begain to drench us. The porcupine was all they had to offer.

Yes, these are the faces of children who should listen to their mother and not let their misguided and uninformed father talk them into wanting to do things they shouldn't do. I hope this lame porcupine will be a lesson to them. Now that the PSA is out of the way...
The sun did eventually come out, the rain cleared and our clothes dried (mostly). These kids and their dad are thick as theives and they refused to admit that his plan for the day was wrong. They even pretended to have fun. But I know it was all an act.

See? No fun at all. They are just really good actors.

Okay, maybe they weren't acting. Maybe they really did have fun.

Those little stinkbugs! They were immune to my pouting and had a blast at the zoo. We didn't leave in time to make it to the creamery before it closed, so these three hoodlums owe me some ice cream!
