We were all impressed with the decommissioned spacecraft that we were able to tour. I'm pretty sure I could never learn the purpose of all the buttons.

And, the history of NASA was also intriguing. I couldn't believe the amount of vehicles and tools they had on display.

I wish I had a better picture of the Neutral Buouyancy Lab that we went offsite to tour. I think this was the most interesting part for me. The pool is 40 feet deep and houses a mock-up of the International Space Station. Astronauts from all over the world train for missions in the pool. Unfortunately it was Sunday, so it was closed to training. I wish we had waited for a weekday to tour the museum and see actual training.

Abigail was not impressed with this version of astronaut dinner...

...But everyone couldn't wait to dig into their astronaut ice cream!

Well, I waited. Actually, I held out for the freshly baked cookies served in the hotel lobby. Two words: YUM. ME. Although we are extremely loyal to Embassy Suites, there wasn't one available in the area we wanted to stay so we settled on a Homewood Suites. The best feature of this hotel chain is the delicious cookie making that goes on every afternoon. Man, oh man, those cookies are tasty! I think I had a better treat than the space ice cream. Consider this a PSA for you when you are choosing your next hotel. If you are a fan of cookies, park yourself in the lobby of a Homewood Suites. Heaven...
But I digress... The Space Center was a fun experience, and the kids were thrilled with what they saw and learned. The rest of that day was spent back at the Kemah Boardwalk for more seafood. You don't need to see pictures of us stuffing our faces with yummy seafood at Landry's. Just come back tomorrow and I'll share pictures of day three of our trip.
