The Elvis Shrine. Yes! The King Lives!

Chuy's is one of our favorite Austin restaurants. It's a fun atmosphere and the yummiest of Tex-Mex grub.  Abigail will even take Chuy's any day over McDonald's or Chuck E. Cheese! After the gardens yesterday, we stopped by at the original Chuy's location in Austin and grabbed lunch. It was yummy and a site worthy of sharing with y'all.

The kids loved playing with the concrete wall outside the entrance where many glass garden globes have been cemented to create a colorful landmark.

Each room of the tables has a different decor. We were seated in the room with a ceiling covered by hubcaps.

Each Chuy's location we have eaten at has a shrine to Elvis. Also, one of the best items on the menu is the Elvis Presley Memorial dinner.

Of course, it's Austin so there's always a reference to the local (and large) hippie population.

lol! We love Chuy's in Dallas and I love sitting in the Elvis Room! Out here on his birthday, they will give you your meal free if you dress up like The King or Priscilla. I've eaten at the one in Austin and it was just as funky!

They must all be identical, because there is one near our house in Round Rock that we frequent and it looks almost the same as the one we went to in Austin this week. The food is yummy and it's such a fun atmostphere!

They just opened a couple Chuy's in San Antonio and I guess we'll have to venture in try the grub. Thanks!
