Birthday Bonanza

We're finally getting some recovery time after the 5th Birthday Bonanza that has occurred over the past four days. Let me tell you, we've never had a typical birthday party for either of our children, but I don't think they've ever been let-down from their celebration, especially Abigail on this 5th birthday.

Thursday was an entirely Abigail Day. Daniel treated her to (her choice) Jamba Juice smoothies to begin the day. Then, we set out on the great pet search. Eliminating fish and birds, Daniel told her his gift to her was her pet of choice. At the first pet store, Abigail was only interested in the ferrets, but we moved on hoping to find a better choice at another store. The second store had nothing to be desired. The third pet store was the jackpot. She landed on a guinea pig after (thankfully) deciding against a rabbit.

Meet Princess, Abigail's first pet. (Secretly, I was hoping for another dog, but we left the choice up to her. Hopefully Cooper will pick a dog in a few years, but I'm afraid I might end up living with some type of crazy reptile.) I apologize for not offering a better photo of our new family member, but I'm not about to get her out of her cage because that would require touching her. I'm just not going to do that. We're family now, but that doesn't mean I don't consider her a rat. I'm leaving Princess completely up to Abigail and Daniel.

We also spent some time at James Avery. For those of you not living in the south, please acquaint yourself with one of my favorite jewelers ever. You can order everything online if you don't have a store nearby. Abigail received her first charm bracelet and three charms. I'll share photos later since she's already been given a few new charms that we need to have soldered onto the bracelet. I think this keepsake jewelry deserves a posting later in the week when we can share pics and tell about each charm.

The afternoon was girl time as we were joined by two of Abigail's friends, Morgan and Skylar, who enjoyed a trip to the nail salon.

The girls had the royal treatment with manicures and pedicures.

They had a blast, and I was so jealous to not be joining them. Instead, I was photographing them and relishing the time as I realized my baby is such a big girl now!

Afterwards, we moved over to Chuck E. Cheese for pizza and games.

Again, the girls (and Cooper) had so much fun.

Cooper and I especially enjoyed Skee-Ball, but I would highly advise that you have a look-out for flying wooden balls heading away from the Skee-Ball ramp if you ever try this game with Cooper.

At the end of the day, we were all wiped out, but Abigail was still celebrating. As you can see, she certainly had a fun day.

I love how you've done that for her! I know I'm not a mom, but I know you want to cherish every moment. You should really give scrapbooking a try, it's very addicting!
