We had many visitors from Texas when Abigail was three years old, but Abigail was especially excited about the chance to play with her cousin, Avery, in South Carolina. We had never been able to see Avery outside of Texas so it was special to see her in our stompin' ground.
Abigail had many choral performances at school and church throughout the year. She was always eager to perform, especially if singing is required. As you can see, she doesn't take it lightly. She is very animated and serious about choir.
She made this set of binoculars (two empty toilet paper rolls decorated and stuck together) and took them everywhere. This photo was taken during a tour of Magnolia Gardens, and she made sure to have her "binoculars" to aid in birdwatching.
As always, if it was warm enough and not too rainy Abigail could always be found in the backyard on the swingset.
Even better, Daddy introduced her to camping and fishing when she was 3. The picture says it all. She was in heaven.
And, grandparents were also in heaven because Abigail finally began to enjoy talking on the phone. Since she only saw our families once or maybe twice a year, they were eager to hear her voice on the phone as often as possible. Up until this point, Abigail was never interested in saying more than "hi." Finally, she figured out that they would listen to her sing and ramble on about whatever interested her and she loved the attention.
Most of all, we began to see the "baby" fading away from our first-born. By the time she headed into being a four-year-old she had become such a cute and happy young girl.
There was no longer a sign of our baby girl, but we loved everything we saw in our little girl.
